    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 1/2 Gallon Preserve Jar.   

     

    The decoration indicates that it was made by F. Woodworth who ran his pottery in Burlington, Vermont from at least 1875-1878 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 46). 

     

    This beauty features a Cute Small Size, Glossy Glaze, Impressed Capacity Number, and a Brushed Cobalt Floral with Dots.  Stands 9 3/4" tall.  

     

    Excellent Condition.  Minor nibbles around the inner seating ring where a lid would sit, and a couple light stains on the back.  That's it!  No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
