    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 1/2 Gallon Pitcher whose decoration indicates that it was made by the Smith Pottery of Norwalk, Connecticut.

     

    This pottery operated from 1843 tihe early 1860's (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 58-60).

     

    This beauty features a Larger Size; Traditional Form with Squared Rim, Tall Neck, Inscribed Shoulder, and Bulbous Base; and a Brushed Bright Cobalt Tulip.  Stands 12 1/4" tall. 

     

    Very Good Condition.  Two chips on the left side of the rim toward the back (3/8", 1/2"), and a 1/2" chip on the right side of the rim.  No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
