Item 10072
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Cake Crock with Tulips.
It is easy to attribute this crock to Richard Remmey who ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1860's until the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).
Circa 1860, this beauty features a Tooled Squared Rim, Applied Handles with Cobalt Accents, and Two Brushed Cobalt Tulips on Each Side. The cobalt is dark, rich, and shiny. Measures 5" tall and 9" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. Two chips inside the rim (3/8", 5/8"), and a narrow 7/8" chip under one handle. That's it! No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
