    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare Beer Mug with Incised Decoration.  

     

    It is attributed to Jack Earnheart of Potter Ridge in Vinton County, Ohio and was part of the personal collection of F. Robert Treichler.  I have included a picture of it from his latest book where he discussed this potter:  Migration of Stoneware Potters in North America, pp. 9-11. 

     

    This beauty features Incised Decoration to Include a Top Border of S's, Loops, Sawtooth, and X's; a Plant on the Front, "Hue, O." Beer on the left side, and the Date 1902 on the right side.  Stands 6 1/2"
     tall.  Hue, Ohio is in Vinton County near Potter's Ridge. 

     

    Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.  A kiln touch on the rim in the making.
