Item 9091
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this 3 Gallon Stoneware Keg with Elaborate Incised Decoration.
It is probably of Early 19th century European manufacture.
It has a Barrel Shape with Incised Bands Framing Three Panels of Incised Decoration with Cobalt Overlay. A tremendous amount of hand work. Stands 15" tall.
Good Condition with Restoration. There is a hairline around the barrel below the spigot and above the incised banding below it which involved the bottom of the frame of the fill hole. The hairline has a staple on each side for stability places there a long time ago (closeups). There is another virtually invisible vertical hairline to the right of the spigot running to near the top and to near the bottom. Nothing else to report except a child's block inside that I cannot get out.
