Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this fantastic 19th Century Hinged Butter Mold. 
 
It is designed so that with the flip of the end clasp the exterior opens to release the base with the decoration which can then be flipped over so the design is then present on the top of the butter stick which will have horizontally grooved edges.  
 
This beauty features a Carved Folk Art Cow with Lots of Detail including all four legs, udders, and bell around its neck.  Measures 9" long, 4 3/4" wide, and 1 3/4" tall. 
 
Very Good Condition.  A 1/2" chip on the bottom edge of the base and worm holes from age.
