Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jar whose decoration indicates that it was made by the potters, Brady and Ryan.
Samuel Brady and John J. Ryan ran their pottery in Ellenville, N.Y. from 1878-1897 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , p. 66).
This beauty features a Brushed Cobalt Bird Perched on a Branch Decoration. The little birdie is drawn in shiny cobalt. Stands 13" tall.
Good Condition. Minor nibbles on the inner lid seating ring, six chips and a 1" hairline outside the rim (1/8" to 1"), two chips on the left handle (1/2", 1"), and three nibbles on the right handle; and a small surface craze y-line to the left of the decoration (closeup). No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
