Coming to you from Doc's Crocks are 2 Stoneware Jugs for 1 Money.

On the left is a 1 Gallon Jug marked "Ithaca, N.Y." I suspect based on the design that it is the work of James McCumber who came to Ithaca in 1864 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 73).

It features a Large Blue Circular Flower.  Stands 11 1/4" tall.

Good Condition.  Two chips on the spout (1/4", 1/2"), a 1 3/4" chip along the left side of the handle, and some spots of staining.  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.

On the right is a 1 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "J. S. Taft & Company, Keene, N.H."This is the work of James Scholly Taft and his uncle, James Burnap who sold pottery under this stamp from 1871-1874 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 39). It features a Brushed Cobalt Leaf.  Stands 11 1/4" tall.

Very Good Condition.  A 1/2" chip on the spout.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Overglaze in the making.
