Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this 3 Gallon Stoneware Pot with Tulip.
The decoration indicates that it was probably made by Jonathan and William Ingell who ran their pottery in Taunton, Massachusetts in the 1830's to 1840's (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 50).
This beauty features a Semi-Ovoid Form, Tall Rim, Inscribed Shoulder with Cobalt Wreath, Applied Handles, and a Bulbous Body with Brushed Cobalt Tulip. The tulip has four leaves and a blossom with 5 petals. Stands 11 3/4" tall.
Good Condition. A 3/8" chip inside the rim, a 5" hairline from the rim in the back (closeup), and water glass staining inside and outside. No outer rim or base chips or restoration.
