Item 7050
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Semi-Ovoid Jar with Garland of Tulips
The jar's form and decoration make it easy to attribute to David Parr who made stoneware in Baltimore, Maryland from 1815 to 1855 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 98).
This beauty features a Squared Rim, Applied Handles, and a Garland of 9 Tulips Around the Middle. The cobalt used is spectacular and forms a pleasing contrast with the gray glaze. There is an interior rim so that this jar can be used to store food or churn butter. Stands 14 1/4" tall.
Very Good Condition. A series of small chips around the rim, a 1/2" chip under one handle, and some narrow chips around the footer as shown. No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
