Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this rare 4 Gallon Cream Pot made in "North Bay."

The pottery at North Bay on Lake Oneida near Syracuse, New York was started in 1848 by Peel Webster and shortly later by E. H. Farrar until 1851.  Then it was acquired by John C. Waelde who ran the pottery from 1851 to 1875 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 70-71).

The "North Bay" stamp on Farrar and Waelde pots is identical, but the decoration on this pot is typical of the few remaining pots by Farrar.  I would attribute this pot to Farrar.

This beauty features a Large Size, Cream Pot Form, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Floral with Three Blossoms.  Measures 11" tall and 12 1/2" wide across the top.

Very Good Condition.  A 5 1/2" hairline from the rim in the back (closeup) and some light scattered staining.  That's it!  No spout or base chips, cracks, or restoration.
