Item 8985
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 4 Gallon Crock whose decoration indicates that it was made by the Edmands pottery.
Edward and Thomas Edmands ran the pottery in Charlestown, Massachusetts from 1852-1868 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 49).
This beauty features a Wide Tooled Rim, Applied Handles, and a Large Wreath Decoration. This unusual decoration is executed with a slip cup in bright and shiny cobalt. Overall, a simple, but impressive decoration! Measures 11" tall and 12" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. A 1/4" chip inside the rim in the middle of the back creating a near invisible hairline halfway down (to the pen in the closeup). No other apologies.
