Item 5004
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Profusely Decorated 4 Gallon Jar from Baltimore, Maryland.
It is attributed to William Linton, an associate of Perine, who made stoneware in Baltimore from 1845-1867 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 98).
This beauty features a Large Plant on Each Side that has Two Blossoming Stems on the Bottom and Three on the Top, the Right One of Which Moves to Fill the Space Below the Neighboring Handle. A lot of work went into this decoration leaving little empty space. Stands 16" tall.
Excellent Condition. A 1 3/4" chip on the rim, and two narrow flat chips on the base (3/4", 1"). That's it! No inner rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
