Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped for the merchant, "A. B. Wheeler & Co., Boston, Mass."  
 
Wheeler ran a grocery store on 69 Broad Street in the late 19th centur. 
 
The decoration indicates that this piece was probably made in Fort Edward, N.Y. around 1880.
 
This beauty features the Company Advertising Crisply Impressed on the Shoulder and a Bright Cobalt Freehand Plume Decoration.  Stands 11 3/8" tall.
 
Good Condition.  Three chips around the spout (1/4" to 1/2"), a faint horizontal line through the handle, and very faint scattered staining.  No base chips, body hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
