    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jar made by "A. Conrad, New Geneva, Fayette Co., PA."  

     

    Alexander Conrad ran the pottery in New Geneva from 1870-1882 before moving to Shinnston, WV (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 164-65).

     

    Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Tooled Semi-Squared Rim and Shoulder, and Five Lines of Advertising in Large Letters with Floral Accents.  Stands 10" tall.

     

    Excellent Condition.  Modest surface wear.  That's it!  No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  The 3/8" chip on the bottom edge is in the making and glazed over.
