Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Wax Sealer made by "A. Conrad, Shinnston, W. VA."
This is the mark of Alexander Conrad who made stoneware in Shinnston from 1882 to around 1890 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 100).
This beauty features a Tooled Grooved Rim for Pouring in the Hot Wax to Seal the Jar, Tall and Slightly Canted Form, and the Company Name and Address Surrounding a Floral Decorations Stands 10" tall.
Very Good Condition. Some chips on the inner rim and inside the outer rim, two 1/4" flakes at the base, and two minor faint hairlines from the rim: 2" on the left side (closeup 1), and 1/2" on the right side (closeup 2). No outer rim chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.
