Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Uncommon 2 Gallon Ovoid Cream Pot made and stamped by "A. DeHaven, Middlebury, Ohio."
This jug is attributed to Abram DeHaven of Middlebury, Ohio who potted in the mid-19th century (F. Robert Treichler, A History of Northeast Ohio Stoneware, p. 48).
This beauty features an early Ovoid Form, Tall Rim, Incised Shoulder, and Pottery Stamp. Measures 11" tall and 8 3/4" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. A flat 1/2" chip inside the rim and five chips outside the rim (1/4" to 3/4"). No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A 1 1/2" drying line in the back in the making that just shows outside (closeups), and a few short and faint firing lines at the base also in the making.
