Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this 8" Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "A. P. Donaghho, Fredericktown, Pa."
This is the mark of Alexander P. Donaghho who ran his pottery in Fredericktown with this name from 1867-1870 before moving to Parkersburg, WV (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners , 170-173).
This beauty features the Wax Sealer Form, Flared Rim, Canted Sides, and the Company Advertising across the Front. The stenciling is complete and in pleasing cobalt. Stands 8" tall.
Good Condition. Chips around the front half of the rim, a chip on the bottom edge, and some staining on the back bottom. No hairlines, cracks, or restoration. Some chips on the underside from separating it from whatever it sat on in the kiln in the making.
