    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this superb 3 Gallon Crock made by "A. P. Donaghho, Parkersburg, W.Va."

     

    Donaghho ran his pottery in Parkersburg from 1874-1900.

     

    This beauty features the more uncommon Crock Form, Company Advertising at the Top and the Capacity Number in a Wreath Flanked by Snowflakes at the Bottom.  All the decoration is executed with crisp stenciling and strong cobalt.  Medium glaze and strong cobalt for greatly desired contrast.  Measures 11" tall and 11" wide across the top.

     

    Excellent Condition.  A stain run on the back.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  A circular firing line around the underside an inch in from the edge from when the bottom rose up in the firing. Not visible inside.  Slightly oval on top in the making.
