    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Tiny 6" Ovoid Jug whose features indicate that it was  made by Frederick Carpenter.  

     

    Frederick Carpenter ran the pottery in Charlestown, Massachusetts for Barnabas Edmands from 1812-1827 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 49).

     

    This beauty features a Tiny Size, Early Ovoid Form, Incised Shoulder, Footer, and Iron Oxide Dip on the Top and Bottom. The smallest Charlestown jug I remembering seeing. Stands 6" tall. 

     

    Exceptional Condition.  As  made.  No damage of any kind.
