Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Gorgeoous 1 Gallon Stoneware Pitcher whose decoration makes it easy to attribute to the Somerset Potters Works of Somerset, Massachusetts.
This pottery was operated by Leonard and Benjamin G. Chace from 1847-1882 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 51).
This beauty features a Squared Grooved Rim, Inscribed Shoulder, Bulbous Base, and a Garland under the Spout and Tulip Up the Center. Stands 8 1/2" tall.
Very Good Condition with Restoration. Very professional restoration to the spout (closeup 1) and handle and rim above it in the rear (closeup 2). Appears the handle came off in one piece. Otherwise as made.
