Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jar made and stamped by "B. C. Milburn."
This is the stamp of Benedict Calvert Milburn who ran the old Wilkes Street Pottery, once owned by H. C. Smith, from 1841-1867. This pottery is discussed in detail in the marvelous book by Eddie Wilder, Alexandria, Virginia Pottery 1792-1876, pages 179-289.
This beauty features a Tooled Square Rim, Pottery Stamp, and Six Brushed Cobalt Leaves Around the Shoulder. Stands 9" tall.
