    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "Ballard & Brothers, Burlington, VT." 

     

    This is one of the pottery stamps of the brothers Alfred, Orrin, and Hiram Ballard who made stoneware in Burlington, Vermont from 1856-1867 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 45-46). 

     

    This beauty sports the a Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Brushed Cobalt Tulip with Two Leaves and a Blossom.  Bright and cobalt.  Stands 10 3/4" tall.   

     

    Excellent Condition.  Some light staining from use.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. Some bubbles in the tip of the tulip in the making.
