Item 9527
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this masterwork 3 Gallon Crock made and stamped by the "Beaumont Pottery, York, Maine."
It is the work of Jerry Beaumont who inscribed his cross, the date of 1987, and his initials "JB" on the bottom. In my humble opinion, Mr. Beaumont has been and continues to be one of the best contemporary potters in America today. His work from York, Maine was some of his finest.
This piece is also signed "D F" for Diana Friebely currently known as Diana Card, the folk artist. She created the Folk Art decoration on this crock which puts it a notch above.
This beauty features the an Unusually Large Size for Beaumont Piees, Applied Handles, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Phenomenal Portrayal of a Horsedrawn Buggy on a Road Between Two Trees. The cobalt is so exceptional that is rivals Bennington, Vermont pieces. Measures 12" tall and 9" wide across the top.
Exceptional Condition. As made. No damage of any kind.
