Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful little Blue and White Spongeware Jar.
This little guy is the work of F. H. Weeks who ran his pottery in Akron, Ohio from the early 1870's and in partnership with his brother in the late 1870's (F. Robert Treichler, A History of Northeast Ohio Stoneware, pp. 51-52).
This beauty features a Rolled Rim, Tooled and Inscribed Shoulder, and Blue and White Sponging. Stands only 4 1/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. An 1/8" nibble on the rim. That's it! No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A 1/4" kiln touch on the rim in the making.
