Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Blue and White Stoneware Spongeware Butter Crock with Matching Lid
It was made by the Uhl Pottery of Huntingburg, Indiana (Anna Mary Feldmeyer & Kara Holtzman, Uhl Pottery, 2nd ed., p. 23).
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty has a Square Rim and Gorgeous Patterned Sponging which is Repeated on the Matching Lid. Measures 4" tall and 5 1/2" wide.
Excellent Condition. A shallow 1/8" nibble on top of one opening for a handle, and a 1/4" chip on the side of the other. Still holds a handle just fine. No other chips, or any hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Lid is mint.
