Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Blue and White Stoneware Spongeware Butter Crock.
It was made by the Uhl Pottery of Huntingburg, Indiana (Anna Mary Feldmeyer & Kara Holtzman, Uhl Pottery, 2nd ed., p. 23).
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty has a Square Rim and Gorgeous Patterned Sponging. Measures 4" tall and 5 1/2" wide.
Good Condition. Minor nibbles around the outside of the rim from use with a lid, and a chip below one handle holder and the end of the old metal handle caught in the other. No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
