    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Most Unusual Spongeware Pitcher.

     

    Dating to the late 19th century, this beauty features a Semi-Ovoid Form, Handle with Thumbgrip, Top and Bottom Blue and White Stripes, and Cobalt Sponging.  Stands 10" tall.

     

    This is not a common form for spongeware pitchers, especially in this large 10" size.  

     

    Excellent Condition.  Five minor, adjacent nibbles on the inside of the rim in one spot (closeup).  That's it!  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.

     

    If you collect blue and white or spongeware, this is a pitcher you may not have in your display.
