Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Blue and White Stoneware Spongeware Butter Crock.
It was made by the Uhl Pottery of Huntingburg, Indiana (Anna Mary Feldmeyer & Kara Holtzman, Uhl Pottery, 2nd ed., p. 23).
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty has a Square Rim and Controlled Vertical Sponging all Around. Measures 4" tall and 5 1/2" wide.
Excellent Condition. A minor 1/8" chip on the rim and on one handle holder. Fine crazing of age. That's it! No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
