Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Blue and White 9" Spongeware Pitcher made by the Red Wing Union Stoneware Co., Red Wing, Minnesota (1906-1936).
You can see this pitcher in Dan DePasquale and Larry Peterson, Red Wing Stoneware Encyclopedia, p. 127.
This beauty features the molded ridges at the top, shoulder, and base, as well as the fancy thumb grip on top of the handle distinctive of Red Wing pitchers. It sports Top to Bottom Blue Sponging. The sponging is unique in that it resembles pine branches. Stands 9" tall.
Excellent Condition. Minor light wear to the spout. Otherwise, as made!
