Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Blue and White Spongeware Container with a Bottom Label Reading, "Cresca Brand, Early American Peloe and Orange Pekoe Blend Tea. 36 Potsize Tea Balls, Cresca Company, Distributor, New York."  
 
Dating to the mid-20th century, this beauty features an Iron Kettle Shape, Gorgeous Cobalt Sponging with Matching Lid, and a Bail Handle.  Stands 4 3/4" tall.
 
These are often sold in antique shops as honey pots, but this one, the only one I have ever seen with the original paper label, solves the riddle of what they were used for.
