Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon Milk Bowl made and Stamped by Brewar & Halm, Havana, N.Y."
This is the product of Stephen Brewer and Ralph Halm who partnered in Havana (modern Montour Falls) in stoneware from 1853 to 1854 (Allen F. Sweet, The Stoneware of Havana, N.Y. and its Makers 1850-1888, pp. 40-43).
This piece is pictures in Sweet's book on p. 7 (see picture above).
This beauty features the Bowl Form with Pouring Spout, Albany Slip Glaze, and the Pottery Stamp. Measures 4 3/4" tall and 10 1/2" across the top.
Very Good Condition. Eight chips on the top and bottom edges of the rim (1/8" to 1/2"). No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
