Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Burger Bro's & Co., Rochester, N.Y."
 
This is the mark of John Burger, Jr. and George Burger who ran the family's pottery under this stamp from 1867-1869 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).
 
This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, a Freehand Capacity Number "2", and Daisy Decoration Executed with a Slip Cup in Bright Cobalt. The decorators at Burger were some of the best and this daisy shows considerable skill in shading and accenting of the decoration. Stands 14" tall.
 
Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind. Glaze run on the left side of the spout in the making.
