Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Burger & Co., Rochester, N.Y."
 
This is the mark of John Burger, Jr. who ran the family's pottery under this stamp from 1877-1879 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).
 
This beauty sports a Strong, Semi-Squared Rim, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, a Freehand Capacity Number "2", and a Large Strawberry Executed with a Single Pour of a Slip Cup!  A simple dramatic decoration!  Stands 13" tall.
 
Excellent Condition.  A 1/4" chip on left side of the spout and a small light stain on the left side near the back.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  Some roughness to the right side of the spout in the making.
