Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 4 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Burger & Lang, Rochester, N.Y." 
 
This is the mark of John Burger, Jr., George Burger, and their brother-in-law, George Lang who ran the family's pottery under this stamp from 1867 to 1877 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74). 
 
This beauty sports a Larger Size, the Oval Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, Freehand Capacity Number "4", and a Fancy Daisy Executed with a Slip Cup. The daisy sports five leaves and a blossom with five petals-- all with shading and accenting. Stands 18" tall.
 
Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.  A couple of kiln touches with slight recess in the making.
