    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "C. E. Pharis, Geddes, N.Y." 

     

    Pharis made stoneware in Geddes (near Syracuse) from 1864 to 1867 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 70). 

     

    This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Brushed Cobalt Tulip Blossom.  Stands 11" tall.  

     

    Very Good Condition.  Three small flakes and a ping on the right side as shown.  That's it!  No spout or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Some loops on the jug made before it was fired as shown.
