Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful and uncommon Billhead from the C. W. Braun, Stoneware Manufactory, Buffalo, N.Y."
Charles W. Braun ran the old Heiser pottery in Buffalo from 1857 to 1896 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 75).
This beauty is dated December 5th, 1867 and records a sale to H. J. Foster and Company of Marilla, New York. The billhead features pictures and descriptions of jugs, cream pots, churns, butter pots, preserve jars, fruit jars, and pitchers.
Comes in a protective plastic sleeve.
Good Condition. A 1/4" and 1 1/4" tear along the fold line on the bottom edge, and some discoloration on the seam lines. No other apologies.
