Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Superb 3 Gallon Merchant Jug made for "Chas. Hook, Wholesale Liquor Dealers, 4302 Butler St., Pittsburgh, Pa."  
 
This beauty was made in Southwestern Pennsylvania, probably at Greensboro by Hamilton and Jones.  
 
Circa 1880, this beauty feature a Tall and Slender Bullet Form, Large Brushed Cobalt Sideways Tulip Across the Shoulder, the Company Advertising in 5 Lines in the Middle, and the Freehand Capacity Number Flanked by Three Dashes and Underscored by a Wavy and Straight Stripe.  Stands 17" tall.  
 
Excellent Condition.  A couple minor stains.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  Slightly convex on the underside in the making.
