Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Preserve Jar made and stamped "Charlestown."
This is the work of Edward and Thomas Edmands who ran the pottery in Charlestown, Massachusetts from 1852-1868 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 49).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Brushed Cobalt Floral with Two Leaves and a Large Blossom. The blossom has 9 petals and the leaves have 3 sections each. Stands 11 3/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. A minor 1/8" nibble on the right side of the rim and minor chip on the base in the making. That's it! No inner rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
