Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "C. Tupper."

This is the mark of Chauncey Tupper who made pottery near Mogadore and Rootstown, Ohio in the mid-19th century  (F. Robert Treichler, A History of Northeast Ohio Stoneware, pp. 72-73).

This beauty features a Tall and Narrow Form with the Capacity Number and Pottery Name
Stamped on the Shoulder and Washed in Cobalt.  Tupper did not decorate his pottery.  Stands 11 1/4" tall.

Comes from the collection of James Murphy that I purchased a large portion of in 2015.

Excellent Condition.  Two 1/8" nibbles and a 1/4" chip on the spout.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
