Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is the Early 1 Gallon Stoneware Cream Pot whose form and decoration indicate that it was made by Clarkson Crolius, Sr. who made pottery in New York City from 1800 to 1838 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 62).

This beauty features a Ovoid Form, Carefully Tooled Rim, Pronounced Footer, Applied Handles with Cobalt Accent at the Terminals, and a Clusters of Grapes on Each Side. Measures 7 1/2" tall and 7 3/4" wide across the top.

Very Good Condition.  A glued 3/8" chip on the rim (closeup 1), a 1 1/2" hairline on the rim (closeup 2), and some staining from use.  No base chips,  cracks, or restoration.  I should look so good at 225 years old, but I suspect I may not!
