Item 3625
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Circa 1820's Stoneware 1 Gallon Jar.
The decoration makes it very likely that this jar is the work of William Morgan or William Morgan and Thomas Amos who worked in Baltimore in the 1820's and beyond (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 97-98)
This beauty features a Rolled Rim and a Delicate Floral Garland with Six Units of Leaves and Dotted Blossoms. This decoration is very distinctive of Baltimore pottery in this very early period. Stands 10" tall.
Excellent Condition. Four small chips at the base (1/4" or less). That's it! No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Some bubbles in the cobalt in the making.
