    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Decorated Jar attributed to Henry Remmey, Jr. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

     

    Henry Remmey, Jr. ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1820's to the 1850's (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).

     

    Dating about 1840, this beauty features a Rounded Rim, Tooled Shoulder, and Three Brushed Cobalt Tulips around the Middle.  All the cobalt is rich and dark.  Stands 8 3/4" tall.  

     

    ExcellentCondition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.  A stone ping near the bottom in the making.
