Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Ovoid Jar made in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dating around 1850, this beauty features a Semi-Ovoid Form, Finely Tooled Squared Rim, Applied Handles with Cobalt Accent, and a Garland of Freehand Vining Around the Shoulder with a Large Dangling Tulip on Each Side.  It took 34 brushstrokes of cobalt to make the decoration. The cobalt is generous, bright, and shiny on a light gray glaze for strong contrast.  Stands 11 1/2" tall.

Excellent Condition.  Two small, shallow flakes on the rim (1/8", 3/8").  That's it!  No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
