Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Jar made in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dating around 1850, this beauty features a Semi-Ovoid Form, Finely Tooled Rim, Applied Handles with Cobalt Accent, and a Garland of Freehand Vining Around the Shoulder with a Large Dangling Tulip on Each Side.  It took 30 brushstrokes of cobalt to make the decoration. The cobalt is generous, bright, and shiny on a light gray glaze for strong contrast.  Stands 12" tall.

Good Condition.  A 1/4" chip under one handle, and a faint 4" vertical hairline on the bottom of one side that wraps under 4" (closeup).  No rim or base chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.  A kiln touch below one handle in the making.
