Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar made in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dating around 1850, this beauty features a Semi-Ovoid Form, Finely Tooled Rim, Applied Handles with Cobalt Accent, and a Garland of Freehand Vining Around the Shoulder with a Dangling Tulip on Each Side.  It took 38 brushstrokes of cobalt to make the decoration. The cobalt is generous, bright, and shiny on a light gray glaze for strong contrast.  Stands 10 1/8" tall.

Excellent Condition.  Minor nibbles around the base and five chips on the underside at the edge (1/4" to 3/4").  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Exceptionally clean glaze.
