Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful decorated 1/2 Gallon Jar attributed to Henry Remmey, Jr. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Henry Remmey, Jr. ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1820's to the 1850's (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).

Dating about 1850, this beauty features a Rounded Rim, Tooled Shoulder, and a Floral Garland of Leaves and Four Blossoms around the Middle.  Each blossom has five petals.   All the cobalt is thick, rich and dark and set against a medium gray glaze to make a very pleasant contrast.  Stands 8 1/4" tall.

Excellent Condition.  Some minor nibbles on the bottom edge (3/16" to 1/8"), and a 1/2" flake on the underside.  That's it!  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
