Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Pitcher from Baltimore, Maryland.
Circa 1860, this beauty features a Tall Neck with Rounded Rim and Pinched Spout, Tooled Shoulder, Bulbous Body, and Brushed Cobalt Decoration in the Clover Motif. The spout is framed by cobalt feathers, the neck has two clovers each, and the body sports a plant with two stems that branch out to cover the front to the sides. Additional cobalt on the handle terminals. Rich, shiny cobalt on a light gray glaze for strong contrast. Stands 13 1/4" tall.
Very Good Condition. A semi-circular hairline inside the rim on the left side (closeup 1) and an amateur restoration for a 2" chip on the outside of the rim on the right side (closeup 2). No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or stains.
