    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 4 Gallon Jar from Southwestern Pennsylvania.  It is likely from Beaver PA or surrounding area. 

     

    Circa 1860, this beauty features a Rounded Rim, Tooled Shoulder, Applied Handles with Cobalt Accents, Vining with Triple Tulips on the Front, and a Freehand Capacity Number "3" Framed by Vining at the Bottom.  Stands 15 1/2" tall.

     

    Excellent Condition.  A narrow 2" chip on the left side at the bottom, a faint X on the bottom not seen inside, and some scattered very light staining.  That's it!  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  Scattered pinhead-size unglazed spots where there was a bubble in the glaze in the making.
