    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Jar with Tulip Garland easily attributed to Richard Remmey who ran the family pottery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from the 1860's until the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).

     

    Circa 1860, this beauty features a Squared Rim, Tooled Shoulder, and a Garland of Three Brushed Cobalt Sideware Tulips Around the Middle.  Each tulip has six leaves and a blossom with seven petals.  The cobalt is rich and shiny. Stands 8 7/8" tall.   

     

    Very Good Condition.  Two chips on the rim (1/4", 1/2").  No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
